The Progzilla Files Episode 07 | The Larks’ Tongue Project (6 September 2015)

King Crimson are an ornery bunch–never standing still, never compromising.

That they have released four tracks called Larks’ Tongue In Aspic is one of the few threads of continuity in an almost 50-year bumpy ride.

These four pieces use the same theme (those descending chords) in various permutations, and listening to all four pieces is enervating.

Progzilla Files #07 also includes three KC-related tunes.

“If you don’t know your note, hit C#. If you don’t the time, play in 5. Or 7. If you don’t know what to play, get more gear. If you still don’t know what to play, play nothing.”
